About the Authors

Dr. Linda S. Gravett, Ph.D., SPHR, CEQC is an organizational development consultant who has partnered with organizations such as Crane America, Williams Sonoma, and Car-Part.com over the past 18 years, helping them leverage a diverse workforce to ensure success through periods of growth and change. She is founder and senior partner of Gravett and Associates, an international management consulting firm headquartered in Cincinnati. She is also the President of Just the Basics, Inc., a Kentucky-based HR Consulting firm. Linda has authored books on business ethics, generational differences, emotional intelligence and leadership. She is a certified coach using the EQ-i® Assessment and is also certified for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Linda is on the adjunct faculty for the Executive MBA Program at Xavier University.

Linda has a Ph.D. in Industrial Psychology, an MA in Labor and Employment Relations, and a Bachelor’s in Accounting. She has lived and worked in Japan, Hong Kong, Canada, and Mexico and brings an international perspective to her executive coaching and consulting.

 

Robin Throckmorton, MA, SPHR is the President and Executive HR Strategist with strategic HR, inc., a human resources management consulting firm located in Cincinnati, OH. Strategic HR, inc. was a recent winner of the Regional Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce Small Business Excellence 10 under 10 Award and runner-up for WE Celebrate Women Owned Business of the Year. Robin is also a co-founder of e-HResources.com, an online consulting firm. Robin has been a consultant for over 13 years with healthcare, manufacturing, service, and non-profit organizations creating solutions to help them recruit and retain the best and the brightest employees.

Robin is the co-author of Bridging the Generations Gap (January 2007). She is a frequent speaker for professional associations and conferences on the topics of generational differences, retention, recruitment strategies, and labor trends. Robin has been an adjunct faculty member of the University of Cincinnati where she taught and spoke for various classes in the Masters program. In addition, Robin has been an adjunct at Xavier University facilitating classes in the Senior HR Management Certificate Program. She was also recently recognized as an Enterprising Women of the Year Finalist.

Robin holds a BS from Purdue University in Management and a Master of Arts in Labor and Employment Relations from the University of Cincinnati. Robin is also certified as a Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) by the national Human Resources Certification Institute. She regularly volunteers for advisory and leadership roles to help serve the human resources profession.
